On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the atmosphere at KPTT Salatiga felt cool following a heavy downpour. Salatiga’s cool air, combined with the lush and serene environment of the agricultural complex, made every moment at KPTT feel welcoming. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, shady trees and sprawling organic gardens enhanced the cozy learning environment, allowing even casual visitors to relax. A total of 71 students from SD Kalicacing 02 Salatiga were divided into small groups—each accompanied by one or two mentors—so every child could jump straight in without waiting their turn and participate directly in KPTT’s signature end-to-end farming experience.
The day’s agenda began with the Area 1 Field Trip, guided by experienced mentors: Willy, Adven, Dimas, Agus, Fatah, and Anton, plus volunteers Mikael, Lucky, and Vena. The children were invited into the greenhouse to see various seedlings being nurtured. Other groups received explanations from the KPTT team at the mushroom house, fed livestock at the cow and pig enclosures, and observed how fish and American bullfrogs (farmed for consumption) are cultivated. Every station presented unique facts: organic pig farming with eco-friendly feed, mushroom cultivation techniques in fiber bags, and maintaining pond water quality as part of an integrated ecosystem. Next came the most anticipated session—overplanting—where students repotted tomato and chili pepper seedlings into a new growing medium, mixing soil, fertilizer, and sand while learning practical agricultural science.
