Friday, February 6, 2026, was a day filled with joy for KB-TK A Kanisius Cungkup Salatiga. A total of 23 children participated in a recollection, field trip, and overplanting session at KPTT Salatiga. Joyfully, they learned through play; curiosity arose through laughter, innocent and simple questions, and eager eyes ready to absorb all information shared by the guides from KPTT Salatiga.
In Areas 1 and 2, the children visited the nursery propagation station, fish ponds and edible frog ponds (bullfrogs), a mini greenhouse filled with small seedlings, a mushroom cultivation house, livestock pens, and met cute guinea pigs. The guides—Bro. Dieng, Yenti, Adven, Scholastic Lino, and Scholastic Edgar—accompanied them patiently and warmly, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Overplanting (repotting) was the highlight of the activities: each child planted their own seedling, felt the soil texture, and practiced preparing growing media with the help of guides, then carefully watered their plants. Direct interaction like touching soil and animals develops motor and sensory skills, highly beneficial for children under six as real-world experiences reinforce learning.
KPTT Salatiga looked lush, natural, and ecological; the friendly staff were always ready to offer simple explanations so the children understood crop and livestock farming processes. With a comfortable area and practical educational programs, KPTT is the right place to introduce agriculture and livestock farming from an early age. The little ones went home carrying stories, laughter, and a growing spirit of curiosity—ready to plant again at home or share stories with their parents.
