For two consecutive days, KPTT Salatiga was enlivened by students in blue and red uniforms. They were students from SMP Negeri 5 Salatiga visiting to take part in Field Trip and Overplanting activities.

The enthusiastic group of 466 students was split into two visits across different days. The first visit took place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, and the second on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. After a brief orientation upon arrival, all students were divided into small groups. This allowed the hands-on experience to run in parallel without long waiting times. All activities were guided by the KPTT team—Batch 1 led by Michael, Scholastic Sena, Yarlin, Kekeh, Cicil, Tirta, Kevin, Epin, Higa, Ivana, and Widya; and Batch 2 guided by Scholastic Sena, Dwi, Bunga, Cherla, Diana, Ivana, Advenia, Widya, and Epin. The students from SMP Negeri 5 Salatiga toured stations across Areas 1 and 2 of KPTT Salatiga: the nursery propagation area currently germinating Japanese mustard greens, mini greenhouse, mushroom house, cow and goat barns, fish ponds, and edible frog cultivation ponds. They also stopped by the strawberry cultivation area.
The highlight of the event was the hands-on overplanting (repotting) session: lettuce seedlings on day one, and eggplant seedlings on day two. Prior to practice, KPTT staff explained the growing media composition and the reasoning behind each step, ensuring students understood not just “how,” but also “why.” The well-organized tour flow, comprehensive facilities, and attentive guidance made this edu-tourism experience at KPTT Salatiga feel approachable, natural, fun, yet meaningful—reflecting how KPTT designs agricultural education to be both effective and comfortable for large groups.
