A total of 102 junior students from SD Kanaan Ungaran visited KPTT Salatiga. This visit was not just an ordinary field trip, but an exciting and interactive learning experience for them. The students “stepped out” of the classroom and immersed themselves directly in nature. Beyond learning theory, they also practiced agricultural techniques designed to introduce them to the world of farming. One such technique was overplanting—repotting seedlings into a larger growing medium. This direct involvement turned farming, which often seems difficult, into an easy and fun activity. Each student learned how to carefully bury the roots and water the seedlings to ensure optimal growth.
The children went through the day’s agenda with great enthusiasm. Besides practicing overplanting, the students were taken on a tour around KPTT Salatiga’s farming area to get a closer look at the world of agriculture and livestock farming. They saw a variety of plants, ranging from seedlings to crops ready for harvest, and received light, engaging educational explanations from the KPTT team about sustainable farming practices. In addition, they interacted directly with livestock in KPTT Salatiga’s animal enclosures. Set against a lush natural backdrop, this visit was a valuable opportunity for the children to learn that farming can be fun and inspiring.
