A total of 101 students from two elementary schools in Salatiga had the opportunity to visit Taman Tani Agricultural Training Center (KPTT) Salatiga—a field trip experience that not only brought them closer to nature, but also enriched their knowledge of flora and fauna. There, the students learned about a wide variety of plants, including family medicinal plants (TOGA), and observed livestock animals they might rarely encounter in daily life. For the children, this hands-on experience served as an interactive way to connect directly with the natural world around them.

A group of 76 students from SD Kristen 3 Salatiga learned about the concept and benefits of TOGA—plants with health benefits for the family. Meanwhile, 25 students from SD Negeri 6 Ledok gained practical farming experience in Area 1 of KPTT. They also learned the importance of environmental stewardship and how to cherish nature and its ecosystems. Beyond offering fresh knowledge, these activities provided a refreshing break from classroom routines. By actively engaging in outdoor learning, the children were able to think more critically, stay physically active, and spark their imagination and creativity.

You too can experience similar activities with your group. Information regarding one-day programs with KPTT Salatiga can be found at this link. If you would like to speak directly with KPTT Salatiga staff regarding reservations, please reach out to us via this link. Ecological regards!
