KPTT welcomed a visit from scholastics (frater) studying at Hermanum College, Jakarta. Held during their academic break, the visit provided a valuable opportunity for them to expand their knowledge and gain experience outside the academic environment. Over three days, from Friday, July 12, 2024, to Sunday, July 14, 2024, they participated in an Ecological Recollection. This program was designed to enrich their knowledge across various aspects of life, including agriculture, livestock management, and the importance of ecological balance.
During this three-day visit, the scholastics (frater) took part in a series of Ecological Recollection activities aimed at raising awareness about farming concepts that preserve nature. They learned sustainable farming techniques and were introduced to proper livestock management. Beyond offering practical knowledge, these activities encouraged them to care deeply for the environment and explore how they can contribute to ecosystem conservation.
In addition, the scholastics (frater) had the opportunity to tour the entire KPTT Salatiga complex, from Area 1 to Area 3, exploring facilities such as the greenhouse, mini greenhouse, cattle barn, mushroom house, and more. They learned from real-world experiences and gained insights into the challenges faced in agriculture and animal husbandry. This experience is expected to broaden their horizons and serve as future inspiration. The visit was a meaningful occasion that left a lasting impression on the scholastics, strengthening ties between Hermanum College, Jakarta and KPTT Salatiga, and reinforcing their shared commitment to environmental stewardship.
