This course is designed to introduce the fundamentals of agriculture and the end-to-end farming process. In addition to covering agricultural basics, participants will be encourage to study about plantation commodities and eco-friendly entrepreneurship.

Day 1

Sustainable Farming

Theory Session

Sustainable farming / energy conservation.
"Taman Tani" growing media.

Field Training

Building a simple biogas digester model.

Day 2

Plant Media and Nutrition

Theory Session

Plant nutrients (Hoagland nutrition) and their application.
Seed production and seedling nursery.

Field Training

Preparing 'Taman Tani' growing media.
Preparing plant nutrients ( Hoagland nutrition ).

Day 3

Seed Production and Nursery Management

Theory Session

Pest control

Field Training

Extracting seeds for cherry tomato, bell pepper, chili, and papaya.
Nursery propagation for melon, chili, eggplant, tomato, and bell pepper.
Seedbed nursery.

Day 4

Crop Maintenance and Pest Control

Theory Session

Control of Fusarium sp. using Trichoderma sp. biological agents.
Plantation commodities (coffee and pepper).

Field Training

Pest control.
Crop maintenance.
Practical cultivation of Trichoderma sp.
Practical application of Trichoderma sp. in the pepper farm.

Day 5

Plantation Farming (A Day at Wates Farm)

Theory Session

Understanding and producing liquid organic fertilizer (POC).

Field Training

Field practice in the coffee and pepper plantation.

Day 6

Organic Farming

Theory Session

Field Training

Making liquid organic fertilizer: Preparing the "starter", formulating, and harvesting.
Maintaining farm crops: Melon, bell pepper, cherry tomato, or leafy greens.

Day 7

Organic Farming

Theory Session

Organic farming business plan.
Simulation of creating an organic farming business plan.

Field Training

Each participant will get time allocation for independent study and guided reflection during the course

Terms

Registration at least 7 days prior to the agreed date.
Arrival at the location is mandatory 60 minutes / 1 hour before the session starts.
Participants are expected to bring their own medication and personal items.
Compliance with health protocols is mandatory.

Facilities

Participants will receive fieldtrip access to KPTT Areas 1, 2, and 3.
The fee includes tools, hands-on materials, and accommodation appropriate to the duration.
Products made during practical sessions may be taken home.
Participants will receive a certificate.
